TESDA MisOcc basic training in SMAW for women

Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Training Center-Misamis Occidental, spearheaded by the Center Administrator, Mr. Dante F. Aliman, conducted a one-day training in Basic Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) on March 15, 2024 as part of the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration.

The said training was participated by the female staffs of PTC- Misamis Occidental. Mr. Junard L. Calubag, an accredited trainer in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, facilitated the training.

The morning session was field with knowledge and discussions about the basic concept of SMAW. 

While on the afternoon session, the participants performed the flat welding position and the horizontal welding position using fillet weld.

The training aims to empower women to overcome barriers, challenge stereotypes, and achieve their full potential through providing them with access to diverse skill sets, knowledge, and opportunities. (TESDA 10/MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL)
