Graduation ceremony marks success of LAMDAG program in Ozamiz City

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 10, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Ozamiz City, proudly recognized the achievements of 25 graduates from the Leading Advocacy to Marginalized Sectors through DICT-10's Program to Acquire Skills and Gain Employment (LAMDAG).

LAMDAG, a regional initiative by DICT, seeks to address the digital divide by providing participants from marginalized sectors with essential information, communication tools, and skills training to thrive in the digital era.

The program covers a comprehensive range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills, starting from fundamentals and progressing to advanced levels.

The ceremony, graced by the presence of Ozamiz City Councilor Dingky Suizo, the current committee chair on Information and Communications Technology, was highlighted by the graduation of 25 Ozamiznons.

Representing City Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal, Councilor Suizo delivered a warm welcome, emphasizing the city's commitment to fostering digital inclusivity. Sittie Rahma V. Alawi, the Regional Director of DICT 10, conveyed her special messages to the graduates, commending their dedication and perseverance throughout the LAMDAG program.

Alawi stressed the importance of equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the increasingly digital landscape, emphasizing the role of initiatives like LAMDAG in reducing disparities in digital access.

Engr. Kenneth Asuncion, Information Technology Officer of DICT Misamis Occidental, and two resource persons, Mr. Wilmar Econar and Ms. Leslyn Reazol, played crucial roles in ensuring the success of the program by providing guidance and expertise.

The LAMDAG curriculum, thoughtfully structured by DICT-10, encompasses a wide array of topics, including computer and internet fundamentals, an English proficiency refresher course, and Social Media Management training.

The goal is to provide participants with a well-rounded ICT education, preparing them to excel in today's digital-driven world. As the ceremony concluded, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to acquire valuable skills and knowledge.
