In compliance with the official Stay Order from the Office of the President, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 10 has reinstated Bonifacio Mayor Samson Dumanjug and Vice Mayor Evelyn Dumanjug, October 25, 2023.

Valencia, formally tendered the Order to Acting Mayor Ricky Bulahan, Acting Vice Mayor Alberto Cuizon, Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Misamis Occidental, Landbank of the Philippines-Tangub City, and other relevant offices in the said local government.

Meanwhile, Mayor Samson and Vice Mayor Evelyn Dumanjug’s copies were received by their legal counsel.

Upon receiving the Order, Acting Mayor Bulahan expressed, "We respect it as it comes from the authority," a sentiment echoed by Acting Vice Mayor Cuizon. The implementation proceeded smoothly, and the officials were reinstated peacefully.

For context, the Stay Order acts as a temporary halt in carrying out a judgment. In this specific case, the judgment concerns the Sangguniang Panlalawigan's decision which imposed a penalty of suspension against the Dumanjugs.

The implementation of the Order effectively reinstated them in their positions as they await a ruling on their appeal. It's crucial to emphasize that they have lodged an appeal with the Office of the President regarding the Sangguniang Panlalawigan's decision, which is presently under review.

This development has drawn significant attention and scrutiny on both local and national levels, shedding light on the intricacies of governance and the delicate balance between local and higher authorities.

The public is encouraged to stay informed about the ongoing appeal process and to uphold the legal procedures in place.

The DILG remains dedicated to upholding the rule of law and will continue to closely monitor and support this process, providing updates and guidance as needed. (𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘎 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘴 𝘖𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 | 𝘓𝘎𝘖𝘖 𝘉. 𝘖𝘥𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘦).
