Handumon underscores feats, plans to boost Plaridel's econ
With the goal of Plaridel becoming a progressive pre-industrial business center and eco-tourism destination in Misamis Occidental, Mayor Gadwin Handumon highlighted major accomplishments for the municipality in his first State of the Municipal Address (SOMA), August 18, at the Municipal Covered Court, Plaridel.
"When I assumed office, Plaridel’s vision was aligned with the developmental thrust of our Governor Henry Oaminal and the Provincial Government of Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon; for Plaridelnons to live in a peaceful, safe, and ecologically balanced environment anchored on sustainable development, participatory, transparent, and accountable governance," Handumon said.
The local chief executive expressed his legislative proposals and policy directions for the upcoming years to the people of Plaridel as well as other partner agencies and local media who witnessed the event.
Handumon laid out his programs and projects that have been done and those that are ongoing.
Some of these include the accomplishments and updates on various programs intended for peace and order, health, education, infrastructure, social services, labor and employment, the environment, and agriculture for the sake of the people, particularly the youth, senior citizens, children, the general welfare, and other sectors of society.
The mayor also thanked and commended Governor Henry Oaminal, 1st District Rep. Jason Almonte, and 2nd District Rep. Ando Oaminal for their guidance and support of his administration. (PGMO)
