Ozamiz City opens Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park

An attractive area where people can enjoy and relax, the city government of Ozamiz opened recently the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park located at Cotta Fort, Baybay Triunfo, Ozamiz City.

The new park which costs around P160 million has playground equipment, landscaping, kiosks, a food park, solar ground lights, an entrance arc, a garden, comfort rooms, and informative signage. The plaza also features fountains, amphitheater, playsets, open spaces, and others.

Governor Henry S. Oaminal together with Second District Congressman Sancho Fernando Oaminal and Mayor Henry Oaminal led the inauguration and ribbon cutting.

This park augments the tourism experience of Ozamiz very own original tourist attractions.

Ozamiz Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal shared that the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park is a symbol of their vision for the city to have an attractive area where people can enjoy and relax.

“This is really a product of the vision which is now our shared vision. Sila man gyud (Governor Henry Oaminal and Congressman Sancho Fernando Oaminal) ang nagsugod ug kita ato lang ning gipadayon ug gitiwas Karon,” he said.

(It was Governor Henry Oaminal and Congressman Sancho Fernando Oaminal who started it and we are the only ones who are continuing it now)

“Karon with the construction of this Wellness Park, people will flock here, people will go here not just because it is strategically located right outside the port, naa na sila’y mapondohan, makan-an ug mapalitan ug mga souvenirs. Katong mga devotees nga gusto mo adto sa Birhen, sa Shrine ug katong mga historical pilgrims nga nay interest nga mo lantaw sa atong Cotta after sa ilang pagbisita sa atoang older tourist attraction in the Birhen and the Cotta Port naa napod sila’y maadtuan,” Mayor Oaminal said during the inauguration of the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park,” Mayor Oaminal said during the opening of Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park.

(Now with the construction of this Wellness Park, people will flock here, people will go here not just because it is strategically located right outside the port, they will have a place to stay, eat and buy souvenirs. Those devotees who want to go to Birhen, the Shrine and those historical pilgrims who are interested in seeing our Cotta after visiting our older tourist attraction in the Birhen and the Cotta Port, they can go," Mayor Oaminal said during the inauguration of the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park)

Meanwhile, Governor Henry Oaminal congratulated Mayor Indy Oaminal for his strong leadership. Further, the city will be celebrating its 75th City Chartered Anniversary this July.

Gov. Oaminal emphasized that this inauguration is a product of a shared vision and this Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park which was conceptualized by Congressman Ando Oaminal and continued and finished by Mayor Indy Oaminal.

“A product of a shared vision, ato nga local resources sa atoang good governance principle sa atong pagdumala. This program also align man usab sa atong programa og atong mission Asenso Misamis Occidental nga ang usa ka key strategy nga ang Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malamboon ug Malipayon,” he added.

Second District Sancho Fernando Oaminal said the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park is the product of unity not only for the leaders but for the people.

“We want the family not only of Ozamiz but the whole province of Misamis Occidental to have an avenue where they can bond and take a break from their daily routine. We want to provide them a venue kung asa nila madala ang ilahang tagsa-tagsa ka pamilya (where they can bring their respective families).You don't need to be afraid or scared in terms of security because I’m sure right now we are already confident sa kakugi og ka maayo ug sa katarong sa atong kapulisan (in the hard work and goodness of our police)

Congressman Ando Oaminal also encouraged the people to be responsible and do their part in keeping the area clean and beautiful. “Free for everyone [ang atong park], atoa lang let us help and be responsible in enjoying the area,” he said.

The Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park located right across from Cotta Shrine offers a place to relax, dine, exercise, play, chill, or simply spend some bonding time with family and friends.(SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
