ARBOs in Calamba get P3.7M aid from DAR



To increase agricultural productivity and profitability of farmer-beneficiaries, the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office Misamis Occidental signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and turn over of the Php 3.7M worth of Farm Machineries and Common Service Facility to identified Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBOs) in Calamba, April 18, 2023.

Implemented under various projects of the agency which are Major Crop Based Block Farming under Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) and Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).

A total of Php 636,000 worth of Floating Tillers (Mudboat-4 units) and Hand Tractor with tillers (2 units) were awarded to Langub-Mitacas Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Beneficiaries Association (LAMI CARPBA), and a Php3.1M worth of one hauling/delivery truck was awarded to Siloy Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SILFAMCO).

OIC-CARPO Arnold V. Quicoy of ARBDSP, representing PARPO II Engr. Norberto R. Paquingan, DM, led the ceremonial turnover.

In his message, Paquingan said that the agency has been and will always be true to its mandate of uplifting the lives of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs). He likewise extended his heartfelt thanks to the Local Government Unit of Calamba headed by Hon. Luisito B. Villanueva for his unwavering support to the department and to its constituents.

Mayor Villanueva, duly represented by his councilors: Hon. Ian Enerio-Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture; Hon. Sammy Ford Lansang-Chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure, Commerce, Trade & Industry; and Hon. Cherry Magsayo-Chairman of the Tourism, Education, and Health Committee, also expressed their utmost gratitude to DAR for the love and dedication for the ARBs of the Municipality of Calamba.




Meanwhile, LAMI CARPBA President Librita N. Mag-usara thanked DAR for the FMEs and gave her word that they will take good care of the things they received and are yet to receive. “This has been our organization’s ambition and now that it has come to a reality, I could not contain my happiness,” said Mag-usara.

SILFAMCO Chairman Bertoldo S. Socias also expressed his gratitude saying that the delivery truck would be a great help to the Copra Trading of the cooperative to generate more income.

Moreover, the activity was also attended by Brgy. Captain Virginia P. Laganson of Langub, Brgy. Captain Felix Lorejo of Mitacas, Brgy. Captain Lucita B.
