Ozamiz City celebrates Women’s month celebration

Ozamiz City joins the celebration of Women’s month carrying the theme “WE (Women and Everyone) for gender equality and inclusive society. (AONC)



The city government of Ozamiz in partnership with Ozamiz City Kalipi Women's Association joins the celebration of the 2023 National Women's Month, which carries the theme,” We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” on March 8, at the Ozamiz City Gymnasium.



The month-long celebration, which honors women and their contributions to nation-building, is part of the worldwide commemoration of International Women’s Day and National Women’s Day.



In her message, Vice Mayor Simplicia “Bebe” Neri recognized the significant role of women in the development and progress of society.



“Kitang mga kababainhan nga naa sa balay mas dghan kita ug gihimo ug mahimo alang sa kalamboan sa katilingban.”



(Those women who are staying at home can do more and will do more for the progress of the society)



She also encouraged all the constituents of D Ozamiz City to join in helping break down barriers that prevent women from reaching their potential.



Ozamiz City Chapter, Women’s Federated President Margareth Docdor expressed her gratitude for the full support of Ozamiz City Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr. to celebrate women’s month.



Various women groups from the 51 barangays including the Muslim and Subanen communities in the city have participated through dancing and singing to celebrate the contributions of women to society. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
