Under the SIM Card Registration Act, existing subscribers must register their mobile numbers with their respective telco providers, a policy that seeks to eliminate digital fraud as all SIMs can soon be tracked.
“We are expecting that all numbers are registered.Kung naay pagabuhaton nga mga illegal activities so kana siya nga tao ma identify nana. On the part of law enforcers dali ra ang pag trace or pag-identify ana nga personality,” he shared during the interview.
(If there are illegal activities to be done, that person will be identified. On the part of law enforcers, it is easy to trace or identify that personality.)
He also assured the public that the data provided by users will be safe and remain confidential.
Individuals who are interested to avail of these services were instructed to bring their mobile phones with their SIMs to be registered. Apart from these, they were also told to bring a government-issued identification card.
As of the province, NTC conducted the SIM registration in Panaon, Aloran, Jimenez, and Sinacaban towns. They have four towns that have been served in MisOcc and they still have two towns that need assistance for SIM registration on April 13-14, to be held at Calamba and Baliangao town
