MisOcc LGUs bag Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance awards
In his inspirational message, Governor Henry S. Oaminal congratulated the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for initiating and recognizing the different local government units who had performed in their respective Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
“We should work together to complete this fight against illegal drugs so that as much as possible it should come to an end,” he said.
The governor also commended the police force under Regional Director Lawrence Coop for continuously supporting all its programs and activities to champion its mission to serve and protect and to further attain a safer place to live, work, and invest.
“Kasi ngayon bumabalik pero hindi maka-porma kasi yong police natin ay focus at yong (Now it's trying to come back but it can't operate because our police are focused and the) vision is still there that this problem really has to come to an end,” Oaminal added.
The Local Government Units were evaluated based on the six indicators namely creation or reorganization of ADAC, allocation of a substantial amount as indicated in the ADAC plan, formulation and implementation of plans and programs, supervision and support to component ADACs, conduct of meetings and innovations done in the anti-drug war campaign.
The ADAC performance audit is in compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular 2022-034 and was done in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP) and local Civil Society Organizations.
This recognition represents the strive for excellence and proactive campaign of the Province of Misamis Occidental and its LGUs against illegal drugs. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
