‘Crime incidents decrease in MisOcc,’ says Placido
Based on the Crime Information Reporting and Analysis (CIRAS) of the PPO, a total of 613 crimes were recorded from January 1 to June 30 this year, while about 688 crime incidents of the same period last year, a decrease of 11%.
This is a result of the continuous and various law enforcement operations conducted by MOCPPO such as campaign against wanted persons which yielded a total of 372 arrests of Most Wanted Persons and other Wanted Persons from December 2021 - June 2022.
The office also conducted a campaign against loose firearms which resulted in the confiscation of 75 firearms both short and 105 firearms were safely kept in respective local police stations.
The PPO has been also relentless in the campaign against illegal drugs. For the same period in review, we have conducted a total of 19 operations which resulted in the arrest of 25 individuals and confiscation of 126.77 grams of illegal drugs with estimated standard drug price of 330, 412.00.
The PPO is also persistent in its campaign against Illegal Fishing, illegal logging and illegal gambling.
The Provincial Director commended the troops for a job well done, and appealing to the public to intensify coordination and support in giving timely and valuable information and encouraging these people to go back to the folds of law.
Placido reiterated that these criminal gangs and drug personalities have no place in Misamis Occidental as they will set their eyes and they will focus their operations.
He added that they will not allow them to induced fear to the constituents as the Policemen are very keen in monitoring on these lawless elements and they are conducting activities that would preempt all their unlawful acts and they will counter them with Police Community Relations (PCR) activities to win back the hearts and minds of the people.(MOCPPO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
