Ozamiz Mayor, elected officials take oath

Henry ‘Indy’ F. Oaminal Jr. took his oath of office as the City Mayor of Ozamiz before Governor-elect Henry S. Oaminal Sr., June 28 at the City Hall Grounds here.

Meanwhile, re-elected Vice Mayor Simplicia Neri along with all the city councilors also took their oath before Second District Representative-elect Sancho Fernando Oaminal.

In his inaugural speech, Mayor Indy thanked his father, Governor-elect Henry S. Oaminal, and his brother Second District Representative-elect Sancho Fernando Oaminal as his inspiration in running for government office.

Oaminal said that in his first term, he will focus on the city’s peace and order through cooperation and full support to the law enforcers.

He added that his administration will carry on the initiatives and governing style of his brother, while aiming to surpass the latter’s achievements.

“We will continue the Asenso Ozamiz programs, projects and services. Consistent with that promise, all Ozamiznons can be assured that whatever services and programs available during the last administration including the flagship free hospitalization program may still be available in the coming administration,’’ he said.

Mayor Indy also reiterated their promise to make Ozamiz a more progressive city.

“We promised all our barangays that they will have a signal and all public places will have wifi. We promised that we will cement all the roads that are not yet cemented and light all the roads that are not yet lit. We promised to provide the infrastructure needed by the barangays such as proper water supply and better barangay halls. We promised to complete the Asenso Ozamiz Mega Sports Complex and the Wellness Park and the New Asenso Ozamiz town,” he shared.
