Newly elected officials in MisOcc take oath

Elected officials of the province of Misamis Occidental namely Governor-elect Henry S. Oaminal, Vice Governor-elect Rowena Gutierrez and Second District Representative Sancho Fernando Oaminal and First District Representative Jason Almonte took their oath of office before Supreme Court Associate Justice Jose Midas Pascual Marquez at Aya Hotel in Clarin, here, June 29.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members also took their oath of office.

For the first district, provincial board members present were Winston Catane, Alejandro Guantero, Donna Iyog, Tata Paylaga Lim, and Agnes Villanueva, meanwhile, for the second district, present were provincial board members Tata Cebedo, Jerry Cuizon, Calven Tito Decina, Heinjie Estano, and Nemesio Lahaylahay.

In his inauguration speech, Governor Henry Oaminal emphasized the need to work together.

“As we are all together to continue working hard for a united vision, we can surpass anything. We should do our best not to fail the Misamisnons who had given us a tsunami win and have strongly believed that we will bring the promised progress that our province rightly deserves," he said.

Governor Henry Oaminal also shared his accomplishments in the past nine years as representative in the second district.

“These achievements will only serve as a source of inspiration that truly nothing is impossible if we work selflessly and make the welfare of the people our top priority. This will also serve as a launching path for the greater things that we will further accomplish in the many years to come.”

During the ceremony, Second District Rep. Sancho Fernando Oaminal also said he is committed to continue the legacy of his father by promoting public welfare especially to those who are marginalized and strengthening of local government units as well as increasing infrastructure projects to further accelerate the development in the district to uplift the quality of lives of every Misamisnon.

For his part, First District Representative Jason Almonte committed to work harmoniously to pursue his mission in improving the quality of life of the province.

Other provincial officials were also present to witness the inauguration particularly the mayors of the municipalities and cities in the province, along with the families and friends of the officials, heads of the local offices of national government agencies, and the members of the press.
