Tangub LGU provides 1,015 cell phones to Grade 12 students

More than a thousand students in Tangub City receive cell phones as blended learning continues amid the Covid-19 pandemic. (City Government of Tangub)

TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--The city government of Tangub led by Mayor Jennifer W. Tan provided cell phones to Grade 12 students in Tangub as blended learning continues in the city and province.

A total 1,015 units of Lenovo 5s Pro cell phones were received by the students of the Department of Education (DepEd) Tangub Division, Saint Michael’s High School, Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST), and Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC), March 10, 2022, at the Sinanduloy Cultural Center, Tangub.

The students were very grateful to the local government and the city council member for creating this program.

A student in Sta. Maria National High School, Shimie N. Bere thanked the government Tangub for creating a harvest class program for its students.

“As a student, we are very happy because this gadget is a great help in our online schooling. Especially, amid the pandemic, there has been no face to face. We thank LGU Tangub and Mayor Jenny Tan, the City Officials for creating this program, and the smart personnel for providing the sim card,” Bere added.

On March 11, Purok Service Units (PSUs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) were also provided with cell phones.

Tan advised students to use this cell phone appropriately for their studies.

This effort of the city government is to help every student and teacher to continue studying and adapt to the new normal of education. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
