Five more barangays in Ozamiz have been declared “drug-cleared” by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug-Clearing, March 8 via Zoom.

As a result of the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign in the city, the following barangays were declared “drug-cleared:" Barangay Labinay, Manaka, Balintawak, Liposong, and Cogon.

PDEA-10 Regional Director Jigger B. Montallana urged the members of the committee to accomplish the necessary requirements.

“Ang ako lang hangyo nga ang inyong compliance from the different members of this committee especially DOH, DILG, PNP halos magkapareho lang ang ni-require sa inyo para ma-accomplish para mapermanent natin yung drug cleared status,” he said.

(My only request is that your compliance from the different members of this committee especially Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Philippine National Police (PNP) which have almost the same requirements for you to maintain the drug cleared status)

Meanwhile, City Local Government Operation Officer Edgel Vedra was very thankful for the success of the event especially to the support given by the LGU Ozamiz led by Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal.
