MOLIO highlights plans, programs via zoom

The Misamis Occidental League Information Officers (MOLIO) conducted an organizational meeting, January 12, via zoom to discuss updates of each agency including their plans and programs in the province.

As for the Department of Education (DepEd) Ozamiz, some 22 schools in the Division of Ozamiz City are endorsed for the limited face-to-face classes.

Division Information Officer Arlene Via said that the Ozamiz City Schools Division is ready preparing for the face-to-face but on top of that it is awaiting a certificate of concurrence from the local government unit (LGU) of Ozamiz and the parents amid the COVID pandemic.

Via also underscored the implementation of Aksyon at Solusyon in all schools to prevent the spread of the omicron variant of COVID 19.

Lou Alo from the Division of Oroquieta said, "DepEd Oroquieta is now focused on the preparation for the limited face to face classes."

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Occidental announced that a total of 25 Safety Seal applications were approved for the province. They continue to issue the Safety Seal for supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores and others.

DTI also continues to distribute livelihood kits under the Pangkabuhayan para sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program and Livelihood Seeding Program- Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay to provide business development assistance to the barangays.

On the programs of SPLIT, the Department of Agrarian Reform in Misamis Occidental started the Project SPLIT which stands for Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling.

DAR MisOcc Information Officer Gerah Marie Loreno said, "Tomorrow, we will conduct a meeting with the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs)and we will implement the project in Concepcion, MisOcc. This project is a major undertaking implemented nationwide aimed at improving the security of tenure and strengthening the property rights to the ARBs through subdivision of Collective Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CCLOAs) which were previously distributed collectively."

On the other hand, Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office and 10th Infantry Batallion announced they are part in securing safe elections in 2022. There are COMELEC checkpoints to effectively implement the ban on firearms and other deadly weapons in observance of the National and Local election period, they said.

Provincial Police Office Information Officer PLT Charien Estenzo further shared that the PNP will conduct Barangayanihan Caravan on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Barangay Toliyok, Oroquieta City to give the services and programs of the government.

On agriculture programs, Romy Macalisang from Provincial Agriculture Office said,” Amidst the pandemic, the office continues to assist farmers on the Cacao, Abaca, rice and corn, vegetables and fruits production program, backyard Tilapia farming and distributed cash assistance for farmers and fisherfolks affected by the pandemic.

TESDA Misamis Occidental also discussed the ongoing training and livelihood assistance in the province.

Meanwhile, the LGUs and other agencies in Misamis Occidental reported the accomplishments and ongoing vaccination program for 12-18 years above and booster shots.

Ozamiz City reached 86.9% herd immunity coverage of its population. LGU Clarin reached 83% from the 27,655 target that includes pediatric and A1 frontliners and LGU Panaon reached a target of 89.78% for the first dose while 77.60% are fully vaccinated.
