Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar visited Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) at Camp Lucas Naranjo, Lower Lamac, Oroquieta, October 22 to check the implementation of 'Intensified Cleanliness Policy' among its police units and personnel.

“Sa aking pagbisita at pag-ikot dito sa Misamis Occidental, gusto kung tingnan itong inyong pagkalima ng ating programa. Sa atin halos lahat ng ating policy at programs nandyan na alam na natin kung ano ang dapat gawin. Ang kailangan nalang ay ang strict implementation para mas magiging epektibo ang ating trabaho. Ang bottom line ay dapat magkaroon tayo ng more commitment, dedication at yun ay makikita natin sa mas magandang disciplina,” Eleazar said.

(During my visit and tour in Misamis Occidental, I would like to see how you take care of your program. Almost all of our policies and programs are here and we already know what to do. What is needed is strict implementation to make our work more effective. The bottom line is that we must have more commitment, dedication and that we will see through better discipline)

During his visit, the PNP chief checks the status of police units and personnel on the ground to ensure the full implementation of the CPNP (Chief PNP) thrust on Intensified Cleanliness Policy, which includes cleanliness in police stations, offices, and camps; cleanliness in ranks; and cleanliness in the community.

“This ICP is anchored on the broken windows policy which basically states that small problems must be immediately addressed to prevent these problems from getting worse,” he said.

Eleazar added that the ICP also includes effective supervision to ensure good leadership by example down to the lowest units.

Eleazar noted an improvement in the upkeep of police stations in compliance with his intensified cleanliness policy (ICP).

“Ako ay labis na nagagalak sa police stations na aking pinuntahan. Nakita ko ang kalinisan hindi lamang sa loob kundi pati sa labas ng mga police stations,” Eleazar said.

(I am very happy with the police stations I went to. I saw cleanliness not only inside but also outside the police stations)

Meanwhile, he also reminded all policemen to be good examples as law-abiding citizens to earn the respect and trust of the public.

Cleanliness in the community is important to realize and execute existing programs against all forms of criminalities, illegal drugs, insurgency, terrorism, and including cybercrime, he stressed.

"We will be effective to work this if we are disciplined, being supported by the public,” the PNP chief added.

The highlights of the event include awarding of deserving PNP personnel of the Misamis Occidental and the inauguration and blessing of newly constructed Multi-purpose Hall and quarantine facility of the Provincial Police Office.

He also conducted inspection of Oroquieta City Police Station, PPO, Ozamiz City Police Station, and groundbreaking ceremony of Tudela Municipal Police Station as part of the Intensified Cleanliness Policy (ICP) program of the PNP. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
