VP Duterte commends learners in regional festival of talents in MisOcc
She expressed her gratitude to the province, local government units, the House of Representatives, and mayors for their unwavering support of education, especially for teachers and students in DepEd schools.
The vice president was welcomed by DepEd officials and the province of Misamis Occidental, led by Gov. Henry S. Oaminal, along with 1st District Rep. Jason P. Almonte, board members, and mayors.
The event was a gathering of talented elementary, secondary, and alternative learning system students, which presented an opportunity to inspire learners for their future endeavors.
Duterte commended DepEd Misamis Occidental and the province for hosting the event, as well as DepEd Division Region 10's commitment to championing and celebrating learners' skills.
Addressing the learners, she offered a special acknowledgement for their dedication and drive, recognizing them as champions in their own right. She also extended appreciation to mentors and coaches, acknowledging their role in inspiring change within the community and nurturing future leaders.
Duterte reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education to cultivate and nurture the diverse talents of Filipino youth, aligning with the Matatag Agenda's mission to support learners' holistic development.
She emphasized the transformative power of education as the greatest equalizer, providing opportunities for all regardless of socio-economic background. Duterte urged educators to teach youth the importance of learning and striving for education, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
She expressed gratitude to coaches and trainers for their dedication to helping contestants prepare, acknowledging their role as heroes in believing in and supporting learners. Vice President Duterte also extended admiration to teachers, coaches, and mentors for their service to the nation.
Duterte also urged collaboration to ensure success and unity in celebrating the talents of the youth in Region 10, affirming the commitment to the preservation and promotion of culture for future generations in Mindanao.
