Ozamiz City Barangay Nutrition Scholars receive 2023 BNS allowance from NNC10

In a significant milestone for the dedicated Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of Ozamiz City, the City Nutrition Action Officer, Lelita G. Navarez, proudly accepted the 2023 BNS Allowance from the National Nutrition Council (NNC) during a ceremony held at the city hall.


The symbolic event saw the handover of the cheque by National Nutrition Council representative, NPC Gladys Mae S. Fernandez.


The BNS Allowance, a vital support system for these grassroots nutrition advocates, is part of the national government's commitment to promoting health and well-being at the community level. The financial assistance is aimed at empowering the Barangay Nutrition Scholars in their crucial role of educating and mobilizing communities towards better nutritional practices.


Expressing her gratitude, City Nutrition Action Officer Lelita G. Navarez emphasized the importance of the allowance in sustaining the efforts of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars.

Aside from the funds allocated by the National Nutrition Council, the local government of Ozamiz City, led by Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal has allocated additional resources to further bolster the BNS program.
