Each couple received wedding cake, gift certificates, spaghetti, canned goods, gas stove burner with LPG tank, and P30,000 cash from the city government, Second District Representative and the provincial government of Misamis Occidental.
Ozamiz Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr., in his message to the newly-weds, underscored the importance of getting married, saying “important gyud magpakasal dili lang alang-alang sa katungod sa madawat pero para pod sa kaayohan dili lang sa anak ug sa pamilya kundi pagpamuyo sa bana ug asawa.”
(It is really important to get married not only for what you receive but also for the benefit of not only the child and the family but also for the husband and wife to live together)
Mayor Indy Oaminal reminded the couples of the responsibilities and commitment towards each other.
“Hinaot nga kining tanan nga nadawat ninyo makatabang ni sa inyong kinabuhi (Hope all this you received will help in your life). Your new life as husband and wife and mao ra gyud ni ang gusto namo mahitabo sa inyoha (this is exactly what we want to happen to you) that you live lovingly, your relationship will only strengthen forever and ever sa tanang kalisod, kalipay magkuyog mo, magtinabangay, mag-inalagaa’y (through all difficulties, happiness you will be together, help each other, take care of each other) with the blessing of God,” he shared during the kasalan sa Fiesta 2023.
