Ozamiz City unveils 75th charter anniversary logo, theme
Mayor Henry "Indy" F. Oaminal, Jr., Vice Mayor Simplicia "Bebie" Neri, and members of the City Council unveiled the official logo of the 75th City Charter Anniversary of Ozamiz.
"Ang kahapsay ug kalinaw ug ang pag-asenso sa Ozamiz makanunayon na gyud (The order and peace and the development of Ozamiz is now stable). Peace and progress that will transcend us and will be experienced by our children and our children’s children; a goal that is possible, a matter not of if but when. And with everybody working together — the efforts of the local government with the support of the Ozamiznons and with our faith in God—we will get there," he said.
The countdown kicked off on May 2, 2023, exactly 75 days away from the 75th City Charter Anniversary.
Ozamiz, formerly Misamis, became a chartered city by virtue of Republic Act 321 on July 16, 1948. This was also renamed Misamis to Ozamiz after a hero named José Ozámiz, who hailed from the province of Misamis Occidental and who at one time also served as its governor and congressional representative of the Lone District of Misamis Occidental.
The 75th charter anniversary of the city is on July 16, 2023. (AONC/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
