Bottled 'Inun-unan,' a staple in MisOcc

Famous across the municipalities Calamba and Plaridel, Misamis Occidental, Cristy Pasalubong Food Products, owned by Ms. Cristina ‘Cristy’ D. Fuentes, is a business which started from an ‘inun-unan’ (stewed fish) recipe made by her father, Mr. Teofilo Descallar.

Locals nicknamed him ‘Nono’ from its inverted word, ‘on-on’.

Later, when they found out that the bottled inun-unan is not available in Luzon and Visayas, Ms. Cristy and her husband decided to loan Php 10,000.00 from the First Community Cooperative (FICCO) to formally start their own business in 2016.

They flourished in 2020 when Ms. Cristy joined and graduated from the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME-MME) online batch.

From their humble beginnings, through perseverance and assistance from various government agencies including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Cristy Pasalubong Food Products have already produced 19 products- ranging from bottled fish products to spreads and banana chips, available and distributed nationwide.
