2,638 Tangub City beneficiaries get TUPAD aid worth P21-M

DOLE-10 Misamis Occidental Field Office headed by Provincial Director Ebba Acosta said that TUPAD is a part of DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) that gives emergency employment to displaced employees, underemployed workers, and seasonal workers for a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 90 days depending on the nature of the activity to be done.
Present during the payout were City Mayor Sabiano Canama and Vice Mayor Tito Decena, joined by five members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod.
Mayor Canama thanked the department for taking the initiative to help the people of Tangub. He said that the beneficiaries' work was channeled towards tree planting activities for a total of 20 days with the purpose of helping mitigate the effects of climate change.
In the end, the people who came from Tangub City's different barangays not only wanted the money, but also the chance to improve their living conditions and help the community at the same time.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC), runs the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP). This is part of the government's plan to reduce poverty and help everyone develop.
The goal of the program is to help reduce poverty and make working poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers less vulnerable to risks by giving them emergency jobs or encouraging them to start their own businesses and run community businesses.(DOLE-10/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
