NIA10 to carry out MisOcc irrigation rehab


The Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental conducts a ccoordination meeting with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA-10) and other national government agencies for the immediate assessment and rehabilitation of irrigation facilities in the province. (PIA Misamis Occidental)



Convened by the provincial government of Misamis Occidental, the National Irrigation Administration region 10 (NIA 10) alongside other national government agencies commit to carrying out immediate rehabilitation of irrigation facilities.


Reportedly, incessant showers of rain brought by a shear line that lasted for four days damaged millions worth of properties, infrastructures, and agriculture in the province.


The estimated cost of irrigation structures damaged in Misamis Occidental amounted to P78 million comprising irrigation dams and terminal facilities.


Twenty-three irrigator associations and 4,092 farmers with a service area of 2,123 hectares reportedly were affected province-wide.


The convergence initiative was set to consolidate, finalize and evaluate the solutions laid and brought about by the flooding including concerns and damages to enable the provincial government to address in accordance with urgency and immediate recovery from the disaster.
