Asenso MisOcc food and trade fair showcase local products
One of the highlights of the Pagsaulog sa MisOcc, on the occasion of the province’s 93rd Founding Anniversary is the Asenso Food and Trade Fair that showcase the diversity of products and delicacies available in the province, as well as to promote the tourist destinations of the difftrent municipalities of Misamis Occidental.
Vyne E. Real, Plaridel Tourism Officer shared, "Nalipay kaayo mi nga naa ning trade fair kay nakatabang siya para ma-showcase ang produkto sa Plaridel ug sa uban nga mga municipality ug makatabang sad ta sa mga tao sa ilang livelihood."
(We are very happy that there is this trade fair because it helped to showcase the product of Plaridel and other municipalities and we can help people in their livelihood.)
Meanwhile, Melissa Sinconiegue, Senior Agriculturist also shared that the products of farmers and fishermen are displayed at the trade fair.
“Usa ana among shells craft nga gipang display karon. Dako kaayo ni ug ikatabang sa fishermen ug sa mga farmers kay ang ilang produkto nadala namo dire ug nakita sa mga katawhan nga naa diay daghang produkto sa Plaridel nga wala nila nakita,” she said.
(One of the products displayed here is the shells craft. This is a big help for fishermen and farmers because their products are brought here and people are able to see products of Plaridel they have not seen before)
Governor Henry S. Oaminal led the blessing and opening ceremony of Asenso Food and Trade Fair held at Capitol Grounds, Oroquieta City.
Ricky Albios, 38, owner of Shotwings Resto Bar in Oroquieta City is thankful for the opportunity to participate in this kind of event.
“Thank you so much for this opportunity for us to be participated in this kind of event. Dako among pasalamat nga naka participate mi especially for us as a new business owner, we have been recognize kay para sa amoa dli namo afford ang dakong marketing so this is one way to influence and invite some people para ma try among food,” he said.

The fair serves as a venue for food sellers, arts and crafts makers, and artisans in the province to earn and promote their products. It also promote the attractions of various local government units which they market as destinations in the province. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
