1,519 Tangub workers get P5.5M TUPAD salaries

About 1,519 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers (TUPAD) program beneficiaries received a total of P5,544,350 worth of wages from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during payout on 6-7 October 2022 at Governor Alfonso D. Tan College, Tangub City.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) - Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) Chief Ebba Acosta said each worker-beneficiary received P365 salary per day or a total of P3,650 for the 10-days’ work on disinfection/sanitation of community or other public facilities around Tangub city.

Acosta said the beneficiaries were mostly farmers and food vendors.

Acosta said the payout was in collaboration with Barangay Tugas Local Government Unit, as the Accredited Co-Partner (ACP), through Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Victoria Berioso.

TUPAD hopes to improve the quality of their physical living conditions while contributing to the welfare of the community.

The ACP is accredited by DOLE to implement programs and projects using government or public funds. It is responsible for the direct delivery of services to the target beneficiaries.

TUPAD is part of the DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), which is a community-based package of assistance that provides displaced employees, underemployed workers, and seasonal workers with emergency employment for a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 90 days, depending on the nature of the work to be completed.
