To strengthen the peace and order situation in the province of Misamis Occidental, the Provincial Peace and Order Council-Technical Working Group (PPOC-TWG), with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Misamis Occidental as the head secretariat, conducted a workshop for the updating of the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan for FY 2023-2025 Investment Planning.

“The formulation of the POPS Plan is vital since this plan will encapsulate the various programs, projects, and activities that will fortify not just peace and order but also public safety in the province of Misamis Occidental, most especially, that we are envisioning an insurgency-free and drug-free province,” said DILG MisOcc Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez, Jr, during his welcome remarks.

Cluster Head Sanivier G. Patoc led the formulation and updating of the POPS Plan with the inputs from the council members present at the said consultative workshop.

The three-year and term-based POPS Plan shall be then incorporated into the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP).

Moreover, the formulation of this plan is needed since it is a document that must be developed within the first 100 days after the assumption of office of the newly elected Local Chief Executives (LCEs) in the 2022 National and Local Elections. (DILG Misamis Occidental/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
