LandBank Agri-hub to rise in Plaridel



In line with its commitment to serve more farmers and fishers, the municipality of Plaridel in partnership with the Landbank of the Philippines breaks ground the Landbank Plaridel Agri-Hub project at Matco, Panalsalan, Plaridel.

The Agri-Hub will bring closer its reliable banking and financing services to a total of 4,058 farmers, 3,584 fisherfolks, thousands of personnel from Peter Paul Corporation, an Integrated Coconut Industry Processing Plant in town and the entire municipal constituents of Plaridel and nearby towns.

During the ground breaking ceremony, Plaridel Mayor Gadwin Handumon expressed gratitude to LandBank for choosing Plaridel as venue for the hub.

He said farmers, fisherfolks and thousands of Plaridelian and residents of nearby towns will benefit once the financial institution opens by December.

“We will accept the challenge ilabina para sa kaayohan sa katawhan sa atong lungsod ug sa (especially for the benefits of the people of our town) and neighboring town especially Lopez Jaena and the rest. Ang atong partnership dili mahimo kung wala’y tambayayong sa usag-usa (Our partnership will not succeed without proper cooperation from one another),” he added.

Meanwhile, Vice President, West Mindanao Branches Group Head, Lina K. Pacio emphasized that agri-hubs aim to bring financial services closer to more farmers and fisherfolks across the country.

“Kami nagdahum nga mas daghan ang mag-uuma ang among matabangan sa mga probinsya nga nag-supply ug bugas lakip na niini ang Plaridel. Ang Landbank Plaridel Agri-Hub ay usa ka one stop shop, sa tanan ninyong mga financial transactions ug panginahanglan pang-agrikultura,” she said.

(We are hoping that more farmers from our province will benefit from this program which includes Plaridel. The Landbank Plaridel Agri-Hub is a one stop shop for all your financial and Agricultural transactions)

Services that will be offered through the soon-to-rise facility include account opening, deposits, withdrawals, lending and other agrarian-related concerns.

LGU Plaridel has donated a total of 291.75 square meters land area to Landbank of the Philippines for the establishment of Landbank Plaridel-Agri-Hub, within Matco Panalsalan, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.(SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
