PNP MisOcc leads Duterte Legacy caravan in Oroquieta

About 800 residents from far-flung areas in the first district of Misamis Occidental availed of various government services during the Duterte Legacy 'Barangayanihan' Serbisyo Caravan, April 25 at the Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office, PHQ Camp Major Lucas Naranjo, Lower Lamac, Oroquieta City.

“Ang pinaka-purpose o aim ng Duterte Legacy ay maiparating sa mga taong bayan, especially sa mga far-flung areas natin ang lahat ng basic services ng gobyerno na tinatawag natin na Whole-of-Nation Approach. All basic services in the municipality sa buong province pagsama-samahin natin para sa ating mga benepisyaryo,” Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Director Pcol Anthony V. Placido said.

(The main purpose or aim of the Duterte Legacy is to provide people, especially in the far-flung areas, all the basic services of the government dubbed the Whole-of-Nation Approach. All basic services in the municipality and all throughout the province will be put together for the beneficiaries)

He said the PNP has initiated and provided their camp as a venue of the caravan to show they are open to serve the public. Further, the program is a one stop shop for government services, a way to show, amid the claims of the communist rebels, that the government cares for the people, especially the vulnerable.

Meanwhile, 10th Infantry Battalion Executive Officer Major Gerrybell P. Porio said local government units, agencies, and partners for peace are united in delivering the needed service to the people.

“Kami po sa Philippine Army together sa stakeholders and other agencies sa local at national government or mga NGOs andam kami muhatag sa serbisyo nga inyong gikahinanglan para maparamdam sa gobyerno na kayo ay importante at hindi kayo pinabayaan,” he added.

(We in the Philippine Army together with the stakeholders and other agencies of the local and national government or NGOs, we are ready to provide services that you need so the government can make you feel that you are important and you are not forsaken)

More than 800 Misamisnons availed various services including free medical check-up/ dental check-up, free medicines and vitamins, libreng tuli, free eye check-up, distribution of food packs, mobile library, giving of snacks , lootbags and ice cream, libreng tsinelas/libreng gupit, giving of school supplies, free seedlings of nangka, coconut and vegetables, free ear piercing, libreng bakuna, 2x2 ID and passport size, police clearance, and WCPD consultation/free legal consultation.

Other services included 'Alis Kuto', facemask distribution, consultation with PhilHealth on membership, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Land and Transportation Office (LTO) consultation, free processing of National ID from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), giving of livestock (goat and native chicken), livelihood training and seminar, cookies making, mix vegetables pickles, basic solar installation, tocino and longganisa making and welding by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The mandate of the government is to bring various services closer to the Misamisnons, building a strong partnership with various stakeholders, national government agencies, local government units and the community through the delivery of much-needed basic social services that are useful tools in ending local armed conflict.
