MisOcc PPO launches ‘Kasimbayanan’ for peaceful, safe 2022 election



In support to the government’s campaign for secure and fair elections, the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office held the simultaneous "KASIMBAYANAN" (Kawani, Simbahan at Pamayanan) for a Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair Elections (S.A.F.E.) 2022 at MOCPPO Grandstand, Camp Major Lucas Naranjo, Lower Lamac, Oroquieta City.

Acting Provincial Director PCOL Eufronio L. Obong said this activity aims to preserve and protect the integrity of the upcoming National and Local Elections in May 2022 through interfaith prayers. This also serves as a venue to gather the stakeholders for their public declaration of pledge of commitment for a non-partisan and peaceful elections.

“Let us ensure that this platform for participatory governance will be adopted and cascaded down to the lowest field units a

nd stations, so that all Filipinos, including our foreign counterparts and our partners who are also here with us, will act together as one family to a commitment that we will perform professionally for this peaceful elections,” Obong said.



He also shared that this momentous occasion is an opportune time to prepare their action-oriented efforts to ensure a violent-free and fraud-free election and also to affirm their pledge of commitment for a non-partisan, secure, and peaceful May 2022 elections.

“Ang mahalaga ay ang sincere na panalangin natin sa taas, maging maayos, tahimik at walang nasasaktan at dapat walang mamatay hanggang sa matapos ang election,” he added.

(What is important is our sincere prayers, that all will be well, peaceful and no one getting hurt and no one should be dying until the election is over)

Meanwhile, 10th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army Battalion Commander LTC Angestal Angeles said along with the PNP, they are ready to provide tight security for the conduct of safe elections.

“We remain non-political and non-partisan and we will give our full support, assistance, service and protection to the people here in Misamis Occidental in order to help secure accurate and fair national and local elections,” Angeles emphasized.

On the other hand, DILG Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez Jr. challenged government workers to strive for balance, a non-political and non-partisan adhering to the rules of the civil service with the guidance and reminders of DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.

“As a provincial director of DILG, what matters to me is your clear conscience because at the end of the day it is between you and your God. You can never be wrong if you are true to yourself, and if you just follow the law and adhere to the policy,” Benitez said.

The event showcased the Lighting of the SAFE Candles and Pinning of the SAFE 2022 Pin by the officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), religious and community leaders and other stakeholders.


It was followed by the Manifesto Signing of a Covenant of Peace to signify and foster community solidarity towards the goal of restoring the trust and credibility in the electoral process and releasing of White Doves as a symbol of unity. (Shaine Mae R. Nagtalon/PIA-10 Misamis Occidental)
