Misamisnons urged to get vaccinated

Misamis Occidental continues vaccination vs COVID19.

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—Misamisnons should continue to observe health and safety protocols and to submit for vaccination for COVID 19, said Second District Rep. Henry Oaminal during his 9th State of the District Address (SODA), October 4. 

"I advocate for COVID 19 vaccination, knowing well how it has helped boost my immunity to fight the virus. I was very insistent to the Department of Health (DOH) and to Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) officials to provide an additional supply of vaccine in our district on a regular basis to ensure the majority of our people will get vaccinated the soonest possible time," Oaminal said. 

He reiterated that the past two years had been very challenging because of COVID-19, threatening the population's very existence, but the fight continues. 

The local government unit has undertaken more urgent efforts to provide assistance to the people which includes conduct of district-wide distribution of assistance to qualified households and frontliners, and provision of financial aid to motorcab drivers and a group of small vendors. 

Since last year when COVID first hit the nation, the district has distributed P30 million to barangay medical and non-medical frontliners and P450 million to the five municipalities and two cities which were distributed as Social Amelioration Program fund. 

In addition, the district also secured Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) funds for the affected residents with a total amount close to P100 million. Oaminal also donated Tocilizumab Temziva worth P1 million which was turned-over to Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center (MHARS MC) as COVID 19 response.
