DSWD distributes livelihood assistance in MisOcc


During the visit of Senator Bong Go in Ozamiz and Tangub City in Misamis Occidental, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributes aid to the beneficiaries under the agency’s Assistance for indigents in crisis situation. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)


Misamis Occidental, October 12 (PIA)—The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed livelihood assistance grants to more than 1,000 beneficiaries in Ozamiz and 400 in Tangub City during the visit of Senator Christopher Lawrence Bong Go.These are the beneficiaries under the agency’s Assistance for Indigents in Crisis Situation (AICS) in Ozamiz and Tangub City.

More than 1,000 beneficiaries in Ozamiz received P3,000 each, meanwhile 400 beneficiaries in Tangub City received P7,500.

Senator Christopher Lawrence Bong Go also provided meals, food packs, vitamins, masks and face shields, raffled shoes, bicycles and computer tablets to help the beneficiaries with their needs especially transportation and education.

During his visit, Go urged them to use the assistance properly by starting their own small businesses.

“Kahibalo ko lisod kaayo ang panahon karon, daghan nawad-an ug trabaho, daghan nagsara nga negosyo, daghan ug naglisod tungod aning pandemya. Wala ta ka-andam ani bisag kami ni Presidente Duterte. Naglisod gyud mi karon pero kamo ang naghatag ug kusog sa amo. Ningkamot gyud mi ato lang ni malampasan malipay nami,” Go said

(I know the times are very difficult now, many have lost their jobs, many businesses are closing, many are suffering because of the pandemic. We are not ready for this even our President Duterte. We are having a hard time right now but you are the ones who give strength to us. We are really trying to overcome it so that we will be happy)

The Senator continues to urge citizens to get vaccinated against the coronavirus to protect themselves and their families. “Magpabakuna na ho kayo para po protektado kayo. Ang bakuna ang susi o solusyon para makab-ot nato ang population para unti-unti na tayong makabalik sa ating normal na pamumuhay,” Go said.

(Get vaccinated so that you are protected. The vaccine is the key and solution for us to reach the target population of herd immunity so that we can gradually return to our normal life)

Second District Rep. Henry Oaminal thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go and other national governments for their assistance to the district and province of Misamis Occidental.
