MisOcc PFO Chief Ebba Borbon-Acosta said the said worker-beneficiaries were chosen from Plaridel Municipality's 33 barangays. Each beneficiary received a wage worth P6,000 as payment of services rendered for 16 days or a total of P10 Million worth in wages. The remaining funds were used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), GSIS insurance, and other supplies intended for the beneficiaries.

Acosta said that the First District Rep. Diego Ty and some municipal and barangay officials were in full support since day one.

Likewise, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Gemma Cabilles assured the well-organized payout ceremonies, especially in the observance of the safety and health protocols in this new normal.

TUPAD is part of the Department of Labor's Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), which helps displaced and low-wage people find temporary work

The beneficiaries engaged in community-based activities, such as cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, for a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 30 days.

The beneficiaries' emergency work provided them not only a source of income but also the opportunity to enhance the quality of their physical living situations while also contributing to the community's and municipality's economic boost. (DOLE MisOcc)
